This client made contact last weekend and explained that they were late in arranging an install as they have their new electrical vehicle being delivered the following Monday!
We were able to accommodate and got there as a matter of urgency to carry out an inspection and provide a quotation for the works.
We were unable to use the existing consumer unit in this case. There were no spare ways and the RCDs in place were type AC instead of the Type A needed for an EVCP installation.
We installed a small weatherproof enclosure next to the DNO meter box to house a small consumer unit and mounted an untethered 7.3Kw project EV charge point next to it with all the cabling clipped direct to the surface as neatly as possible.
We went through set up at the end of the day and transferred ownership of the EV on to the clients phone after they had downloaded the App and created an account.
This client is now EV ready in time for the delivery of their new car next week.
